Shut the friggin Bab-tain!
Ok, so I went ahead and called TBWA and spoke to their head-honcho, and very politely told him what I thought about the radio spot and asked him in turn how TBWA felt about it.
"We feel terrible" he says, and "We made the spot and now we are stuck with it, cause the client loves it".
When asked if they planned on making any changes to it, the answer came back as "Yes, we do, and right now we are suggesting various ideas to our client in hopes that they will change their mind".
So people, I've been given an email address to which you can email your feedback to TBWA regarding this annoying ad. They are welcoming your thought, and whatever you write will be used to convince Nissan to get it off the air.
So email them today! Just be nice about it (if you can, because I am aware that some people are incapable of courtesy).

I refuse to listen to the morning show on FM 99.7 anymore. Babtain pschyo-babble. I can't wait for digital radio in Kuwait to cut the commercials out completely.
Isn't XM Radio Satellite worldwide?
If the Albabtain radio ad had stirred such emotion that provoked you to write about it, then they have succeeded…and I think if TBWA advises their client to take it off then they don’t know the least bit about advertising …
Repetition is the key…and FYI I hear that this Radio spot you have been complaining about has don the job, the sales have increased, the Albabtain Brand is stronger now and a lot of people are now humming the tune.
So, Stop complaining and buy your self a Nissan….
Anon-
I beg to differ. If they had succeeded (with me) I'd be driving a Nissan by now.
Noone is arguing the strength of Al-Babtain ads, or the success the it has brought the company. Just the fact that it is an annoying ad.
Telling me to go buy a Nissan! Pah!
You work for them? :-)
You don’t need to be driving the car.., Just the Fact that you know the Albabtain name and associate it with Nissan cars is the first step to success, the fact that you probably by now notice the Nissan cars a lot more is the second step…as to the buying decision a lot of other factors contribute to that (price, shape, color,…etc)and the ad campaign’s job is to make you reach to that stage...(consider the brand in your buying process)
And no I don’t work for them, I'm in advertising ;)
Honestly, I dont keep an eye out for nissan cars on account of their awful ad. If anything, I would advise my peers not to buy a nissan.
You're in advertising, huh? Hmm well there are two bloggers i know who are in advertising, Miskan, and Pokerface. Either you're one of them (and I hope to god it's the latter, as I cannot tolerate the former any longer) or you're a TBWA employee who's had a hand in creating that annoying little radio spot and is feeling defensive over my opinion of it! ;-)
None of the above, and no I never and will never work for TBWA, and I wish I could take credit for that ad... ;)
Oh come now Anon... do tell which agency you work for.
What? You dont want to reveal it on my blog? No problem, here's my email
:-)
